2026 openBIM Roads and Bridges
Transportation Summit
November 2-3, 2026
Embassy Suites Hotel | Pittsburgh, PA
Registration is open!

The 2026 openBIM Roads and Bridges Transportation Summit—hosted by the buildingSMART USA Roads and Bridges Committee in collaboration with the AASHTO Joint Subcommittee on Data Standardization (JStan), the “BIM for Infrastructure” and “BIM for Bridges and Structures” national State DOT and FHWA transportation pooled fund teams, and Highway Engineering Exchange Program (HEEP) — will be a two-day event co-located with the State DOT pooled fund annual business meetings, which brings together roadway and bridge digital delivery leadership staff from across the State DOT’s, alongside FHWA and engineering companies assisting with these efforts. The summit will be held at the Embassy Suites in downtown Pittsburgh, PA the afternoon of November 2nd and the morning of November 3rd.
This is a unique opportunity to engage and provide input to the State DOT and FHWA participants through an integrated agenda, shared sessions, panel discussions, and facilitated networking. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore and get more connected with openBIM efforts underway in the US and internationally. The summit is expected to include buildingSMART International updates, FHWA and national transportation BIM Pooled Funds efforts, panel discussions, and ongoing “openBIM in action” projects. The summit will provide opportunities for external stakeholder design and construction input to the State DOT’s to contribute to the national conversation on digital delivery and open data standards in transportation.
Last year’s hybrid event saw over 250 registered participants representing Asset Owners, Technology Providers, Engineering Firms, Contractors and more than 35 State DOTS. Note capacity is limited for in-person attendance, so we suggest you get registered early. For more details on last year’s event - refer to https://www.buildingsmart.us/november-2025.
