Certification & Training
Certifications are managed at the International or Chapter level, depending on the nature of the certification.
International Certification is available for learning that applies generally to all chapters, and includes four programs:
■ ENTRY — Access to internationally developed learning content; reflective of current industry trends, international standards, best practice, and real world project implementation. Completion of the entry-level grants the participant a buildingSMART recognition - the entry-level badge. The Entry level introduces open standards and openBIM concepts in a simple, clear and straightforward matter.
■ FOUNDATION — The Foundation level addresses the needs of individuals operating at a basic level. The training helps building owners, designers, consultants, builders and project managers understand the opportunities collaboration within a virtual, openBIM environment offers.
■ MANAGEMENT — Management level is aimed at industry professionals involved in the management of digitally empowered projects. It provides fundamental knowledge and insight at strategic and operative levels, without descending into technical detail.
■ PRACTITIONER — The Practitioner level elevates your openBIM expertise at an operational level. This internationally recognized certification is designed specifically for professionals engaged in BIM delivery who possess considerable theoretical and technical knowledge, as well as a minimum time of project experience.
Chapter Certification focuses more on practice typical in the US.
■ LEVERAGING openBIM® for PROJECT MANAGEMENT — Even seasoned project managers can benefit advanced tools and skill sets for enhancing project management, collaboration, risk mitigation, and overall project success provided in this course. The course provides specific practical knowledge of ❶ openBIM® Fundamentals and Teamwork ❷ Digital Deliverables Management ❸ Supporting Standards and Technologies
■ openBIM® Applications — This course helps project teams keep pace with the rapid evolution of BIM-related tools and select applications best suited to their project needs and objectives. The course covers ❶ Optimal openBIM® Workflows ❷ BIM Coordination ❸ COBie and advance use of openBIM®
