Since first published in 2013 the BIMForum Level of Development (LOD) Specification has been a prime openBIM tool, providing a platform-agnostic means of succinctly defining the reliability of models. In a collaborative effort including BIMForum, AIA Contract Documents, and a range of industry experts, lessons learned from almost a decade of the practical application of the LOD framework have been incorporated into a set of updated LOD definitions. This session will explain the impact of this update and its tie-in with the new AIA Digital Practice documents and the use of models as contracts.
